Director/Senior Director, Analytical and Bioanalytical

The Director/Senior Director, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry will be responsible for development and deployment of analytical and bioanalytical assays to support development of nucleic acid-lipid nanoparticle products and will contribute to overall strategic scientific planning.  She/he will work closely with the Senior Director, Technology Development, Senior Director, Preclinical Research and the Chief Scientific Officer. She/he will directly supervise a small team of analysts.

 

Responsibilities will include oversight of lipid nanoparticle characterization activities to support both internal and external partnered programs including analytical and bioanalytical method development and deployment, characterization of nucleic acid therapeutics, particularly messenger RNA therapeutics. In addition, she/he will be responsible for planning and conduct of stability programs and oversight and coordination of routine sample analyses.  Activities will also include transfer of methods to partner and external contract manufacturing laboratories.   Acuitas is partnered with multiple international biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and the Director/Senior Director will interact with partners on multiple programs.   He/she will participate in a number of cross-functional teams.

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of PhD, MSc or equivalent degree and more than five years industry experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and problem-solver, have a strong technical foundation in physical/analytical/bioanalytical chemistry, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with drafting and review of regulatory filings would be an asset.  She/he will excel in a fast-paced, growing environment and will enjoy working as part of a team. Compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
